Character Prosthetics Course focuses on character design and application techniques.

Certificate of Achievement will be given by Tyler at the end of the course!
Students will begin by lifecasting their own faces, creating the foundation for their custom character prosthetic designs. Throughout the course, students will learn the process of molding and casting their stone positives, which they will then use to sculpt their prosthetic designs.
Students will take home their completed lifecast and mold at the end of the course.
Professional Portfolio Photos Included
As part of the course, students will have the opportunity to participate in a professional photoshoot of their finished character designs during the final application day.
Each student will receive up to 5 professional photos of their completed looks, photographed by professional photographer Anthony Videira. These finished images are a great addition to your portfolio and allow you to showcase the character prosthetics you created throughout the course.
Course Breakdown:
Fundamentals of Lifecasting
Learn the fundamentals of safely creating a facial lifecast to use as the foundation for your prosthetic sculpture.
Casting Stone Positive
Learn how to create a durable stone positive from your lifecast for sculpting.
Sculpting Part 1
Begin developing your character prosthetic design and learn the fundamentals of sculpting directly onto your stone positive.
Sculpting Part 2
Continue refining your sculptural forms, character details, and overall design.
Sculpting Part 3
Develop additional character details and refine the prosthetic for the molding process.
Sculpting Part 4
Complete and finalize your prosthetic sculpture in preparation for molding.
Molding Process
Learn the process of creating a mold from your finished sculpture in preparation for casting.
Pre-Painting Appliance
Prepare and pre-paint your finished foam latex appliance for application.
Application
Learn the process of applying, blending, and finishing your foam latex prosthetic to create the final character look.
Professional Photoshoot
Complete your character transformation and have your finished design professionally photographed. Students receive up to 5 professional photos for portfolio use.
Latex products are used throughout this course.
Refund and Cancellation Policy for Courses/Workshops:
Please register early!
Courses/Workshops will be cancelled 7 days prior to the event if there is low enrollment at the time of the Course/Workshop. When a Course/Workshop is cancelled within this timeframe, candidates will be notified immediately via email and will receive a full refund.
If the Course/Workshop registration was not completed online you will be refunded within 2 weeks after the cancellation.
If you cancel your registration within 7 days of purchasing the Course/Workshop, you’re entitled to a full refund.
If you cancel your registration within 7 days leading up to the Course/Workshop, you’re entitled to a partial refund due to the cost of materials purchased for reserving your spot in the Course/Workshop. You will be partially refunded within 2 weeks after the cancellation.
